St. Catherine’s Youth Enterprise Challenge

Alongside Mr Chalmers, Mr Leadbitter and Mr Croft, I had the pleasure of watching presentations from nine teams, three from Year 10 and six from Year 12, who pitched their business plans in the hope of being chosen to represent our school in the Youth Enterprise Challenge.

Any of the groups could have been selected; all had worked very hard and had some great ideas.  After lengthy deliberation we chose a Year 12 team, “Onwards for Orange” comprising Cameron Taylor, Chloe Nobbs, Eliza McCarthy, Lily Rutledge, Madie Beard and Matilda Beard. The team recently attended the launch event and have been in contact with NatWest mentors who will be working with them over the course of the project and other schools taking part.

A JustGiving page has been set up which will be updated regularly providing information about their various activities. The address is https://www.justgiving.com/page/onwardsfororange and the team would welcome any donations!

The team has already held a cake sale which was very popular.  They plan to hold several events including bench ball, a pancake sale, a carwash, a non-uniform day and a fun run.  Details of their fundraising events will be given to students in school and sent to parents/carers via InTouch.

We hope that the school community will get behind the team in their efforts to raise as much money as they can over the next few weeks for this very important and amazing local charity.
