On Thursday 7th March, 41 eager Year 10 students left Hazelwick bright and early for a French & Art Trip to Paris with Mrs May, Mr Chalmers, Mrs Hay, Miss Holbrook, Miss Kempton and Mrs Aitken.
The St Catherine’s Youth Enterprise Challenge team’s aim is to raise over £1,500 between the launch date in January and Thursday 28th March. Our team of six Year 12 students are working hard to raise as much as possible.
This year’s World Book Day takes place on Thursday 7th March, and I thought I would detail our plans for this year, including a visit from author Jennifer Claessen. I have also featured the Yoto Carnegie Medal for Illustration as Mrs Bridgman is looking for student volunteers to help judge a selection of picture books. I have also given an update regarding some book award news. I would also like to thank our guest reviewer for this month, Ian Larkham, the Vice-Chair of Governors
An inspirational careers event took place for Years 9 and 10 on Wednesday 24th January.
Alongside Mr Chalmers, Mr Leadbitter and Mr Croft, I had the pleasure of watching presentations from nine teams, three from Year 10 and six from Year 12, who pitched their business plans in the hope of being chosen to represent our school in the Youth Enterprise Challenge.
